How to redeem a Minecraft cape code

August 29, 2026

A Minecraft cape code is a single-use redemption code that adds a cosmetic cape to your Microsoft account. Redeeming one takes about two minutes. Here is the exact process.

Step 1: Go to the official redemption page. Open minecraft.net/redeem in your browser. This is the only page you should ever enter a cape code on — no legitimate seller needs your Minecraft or Microsoft login.

Step 2: Sign in with the Microsoft account you play Minecraft with. The cape is attached to whichever account is signed in, so double-check it is the right one, especially if you have more than one account.

Step 3: Enter the code exactly as it appears in your order email. Codes are case-sensitive in some cases, so copy and paste rather than typing if you can.

Step 4: Equip the cape. Open your profile on minecraft.net, go to the skin settings, and select the cape. In game, log out and back in (or rejoin your server) if it does not show up immediately.

Java or Bedrock? Both. One code works for both editions on the same Microsoft account — once redeemed, the cape can be equipped in your profile and shows up in Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.

If your code does not work: do not panic and do not try it on random other sites. Contact the seller with your order reference. At CapeCodes, a code that fails to redeem is replaced or refunded — email support@capecodes.net.

One last tip: a cape code works exactly once. Keep it private until you redeem it, because anyone who has the code can use it.
